"AAA" Special MeetingsThis is the third and final year of the "AAA" pilot project and to ensure
all levels of hockey have adequate time to prepare for the upcoming season there
will be two special meetings held. The first meeting will be, January
16th, from 1300 to 1500 (1:00 pm to 3:00 pm), in the ground floor conference
room at the Hockey Office. This meeting will be open to all District
Chairs, Association Presidents, members of any / all hockey associations and
general public for a short Power Point presentation by the "AAA" Steering
Committee and an open question and answer session to explain;
where the project started;
where it stands to date;
and if successful in becoming a full fledged league within the ODMHA
where it may be leading.
The second meeting is set for 2 weeks later (January 30th, same time &
place) and will be a Special General Meeting (all voting members of the ODMHA -
Executive, Minor Council, District Chairs and Association / League Presidents
with voting authority). The two week time frame will allow the Presidents
and District Chairs to discuss the information presented and at
the second meeting vote on whether the pilot ends and "AAA" is
endorsed as a full time league or in the case of negative vote how can we
move forward in an alternate direction. This early vote will allow
planning to continue in a meaningful fashion for next season. Any other
outstanding issues will be dealt with at the regular spring AGM.

TRUE SPORTSMANSHIPDuring a major midget game on Saturday
November 14th at the Kemptville complex between the Upper Canada
Cyclones and Ottawa Junior 67's, linseman Mike Kehoe suffered a serious
knee injury that will put him out of commission for quite some time.
Through the efforts of Tom Seed of the
Cyclones, he coordinated an act of true sportsmanship by putting
together a package for Mike with the support of the 67's and Cyclones.
Each team signed a get well card, contributed $100.00 in cash and
another $100.00 in gift cards for dinner out and movie passes.
The OEMHL AAA league congratulates Tom, Cyclones and 67's for their class act and wishes Mike a speedy recovery.

Memo from ODMHA RIC
On August 31, 2009 a meeting was held with the ODMHA and ODHA Executive regarding abuse of officials. Over the past three years there have been far too many incidents, both reported and not reported, regarding the abuse of officials. Given the best means of prevention is education it was agreed that all officials will discuss the under-noted guidelines at their mandatory yearly clinics and all coaches will be provided with the same material for discussion at their clinics or meetings. I truly hope this will result in a significant decrease in the number of incidents within the Branch and that our hockey arenas return to being a safe environment for all. John F. Reid, ODMHA Referee-In-Chief Please download full MEMO below. Hockey Canada Bulletin: H1N1 VirusHockey Canada has for many years had specific steps in place to reduce the spread of any infection in the hockey environment and we urge you to remind your teams of the following.
